I established the Fiction Fix-It Shop in 2006. There are lots of editing services out there—some big, some small—but at the time, I couldn’t find any that really specialized in serving fiction writers. I wanted to create a fiction editing service that could provide the best, most current advice and feedback to fiction writers. A service that was friendly and personalized, something encouraging and honest.

I wanted to offer fiction writers a fiction editing service they could trust and even enjoy working with. It’s what I dreamed of finding when I was starting out my writing career, but it didn’t exist. I know how hard it is to get that support, and so once I was published, I wanted to be able to offer that support to other writers.

That’s how Fiction Fix-It Shop came to be. And now, thanks to the support and enthusiasm of our clients, we’ve been able to add more published novelists, experienced copy editors, and support staff to serve the needs of the writers we care so much about.

We provide chapter critiques, partial edits, substantive editing, copy editing, proofreading, writing coaching, and creativity coaching—with pricing and packages to fit any budget. We work only with writers of adult or young adult fiction, and all us who do coaching or substantive editing are also published novelists ourselves.
